The Acute Psychiatric Care Program at Diamond Grove Center is designed for children and adolescents (ages 5 to 17). This 25-bed program is designed to help individuals stabilize from an immediate state of crisis through 24-hour care in a therapeutic setting. Our multi-disciplinary staff develops an individualized treatment plan for each patient to address his or her specific needs.
There are many specific, detailed and essential criteria a potential patient must meet to be considered an appropriate admission. Based on information provided by the patient and parent or legal guardian during the initial screening process, the admission nurse reviews the clinical history and presenting symptoms of the potential patient with a physician.
The physician’s consultation determines if the individual’s condition warrants a psychiatric diagnosis, if he or she should be admitted for intensive psychiatric treatment and if the necessary treatment can be adequately provided within the scope of Diamond Grove Center’s resources and capabilities.
We cannot offer diagnosis, counseling or recommendations online, but an assessment and referral specialist is available 24 hours, seven days a week at 662-779-0119. If you are currently experiencing an emergency, please dial 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
